Meet The Owners

tim Jamison

(Owner of BLA)

I am the co-owner of Bright Learners Academy (BLA).  I graduated from the University of Michigan with my Bachelors in General Studies with a minor in business.  I also played collegiate football on a full athletic scholarship at the University of Michigan.  After college, I played in the NFL for 6 years with the Houston Texans.  My dream, for our school, is that we are committed to producing high academic achievers.  I anticipate and expect a BLA alums to become future politicians or other high ranking officials, business owners, inventors, doctors, lawyers, educators, and other well respected leaders and citizens in our country and local communities.  Our foundational teaching will be the catalyst for their high achievement.  Because of BLA, I am excited about our future as a community, state, and country.

Our Story

We met as student athletes at the University of Michigan in 2004.  We got married in 2009 and we have built our lives here in Houston, TX especially the Pearland community.  We have 5 beautiful children whom we love and adore.  Our children are a product of our school and they are high academic achievers as well.  While my husband was playing in the NFL, I became a teacher.  I fell in love with the pedagogy of teaching and never looked back.  I am a 5th generation educator so it is truly in my blood.  When my husband retired, we were approached about buying BLA who at the time had existed for 10 years.  We believed in their vision and mission so we were on board with making this tradition of excellence our own.  We acquired BLA in July 2017.  We have strived to build our reputation as an academic powerhouse with amazing scholars leaving our program.  We are pillars in the Pearland community and well respected from the local elementary schools.   We ensure that childcare and academic excellence isn’t the only things we are known for.  Community and building the village is our number 1 priority.  We help hand and hand with our parents to rear these children.  We cannot raise productive citizens in our community in isolation.  We need partners who have the same moral compass as us to help raise our kids together.  We help ensure one another’s success when it comes to our kids.  BLA is the village and community, you have been looking for…not just a place to drop your kids off.  We host numerous family engaging events to help build our community.  Not only are our kids friends, but the parents become fast friends too.  We have Parent Night Out (PNO) where we give parents extra time to spend with one another with extended school hours for date night 2x a year.  Sometimes moms and dads need to connect and get away from it all, we host Mom’s Night Out (MNO) and Dad’s Night Out (DNO) 2x a year.  MNO is where all the BLA moms gather to fellowship, connect, and build sisterhood through fun activities and food.  DNO is the same where fellowship, friendship, and brotherhood is developed.  We also host a Dad’s Barbecue Cook-Off on the last day of school to determine who is king of the grill that year.  Moms bring side dishes and desserts to make this event rounded and festive.  These are only a few of the events that distinguishes us from anybody else.  We host considerable amount of events to ensure parent engagement and builds our villages for lifetimes to come.
